A young artist, Francis Vallejo has made a name for himself with pieces in quite a few shows. Already teaching his very own class, and an inking demo up for sale on conceptart.org, he has strong roots in traditional and proficiency in digital mediums. Check him outttt.

Eric Powell

Eric Powell is one of my recent favorite artists that I've discovered this week. He is the creator of the original comic The Goon, which might be getting a theatrical release sometime in the near future. A self taught artist, Powell has won quite a few Eisner awards ( the most prestigious in the comic industry) in different categories, and one by the International Horror Guild. That's a real group apparently.
 

Alexandre Day

Alexandre Day is a French artist with an affinity for a haunting quality to his works. His images are slightly abstract, spacious, and expressive. Works primarily with graphite on coated wood. His characters peer back at you with an intense gaze, situated in a style between realism and almost cartoony.
